Heat Resistant Super Alloys present significant machining challenges, as heat from cutting forces does not disperse easily, thus transferring more rapidly to the tool and drastically reducing tool life. OSG has developed specialized tooling, such as variable rake & helix mills with advanced coating technology, to combat the excessive heat encountered when machining HRSA.
